South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin is optimistic that he can achieve zero stunting through some interventions.

We are here discussing collaborative efforts in preventing nutritional problems

As a way to improve coordination to overcome stunting, the Stunting Reduction Convergence Action 2024 (Rembuk Stunting) was held in the Gelatik Room of the South Jakarta Mayor's Office.

According to him, nutritional problems in society were not only the responsibility of the health sector. It was because nutritional status problems occurred over a long period of time and the causes were related to various sectors, ranging from economic and social problems to clean and healthy lifestyle habits.

"Therefore, we are here discussing collaborative efforts in preventing nutritional problems, both specific interventions from the health sector and sensitive interventions from the non-health sector," he expressed, Thursday (7/25).

For stunting intervention in 2023, as many as 615 stunted toddlers in South Jakarta had successfully undergone the overall intervention in collaboration with related stakeholders.

"I express my appreciation and thanks to all those involved, especially to the collaborators or CSR who helped implement stunting prevention and control in South Jakarta. Hope what we have agreed on can produce concrete and optimal activities so that South Jakarta has zero stunting," he explained.

South Jakarta People's Welfare Section Head, Khabib Asy'ari added Rembuk Stunting is an important step that must be taken to ensure that the implementation of planned stunting prevention and reduction intervention activities is carried out jointly between regional apparatus organizations (OPD), private sectors and residents.

"Hope there will be cross-sector involvement in efforts to prevent and reduce stunting in South Jakarta," he hoped.

It is also a form of commitment and attention to the problem of stunting which has long been a serious concern of all elements of government and society.

"Hopefully, through close cooperation and synergy between various parties, we will be able to achieve significant results to prevent and overcome stunting in South Jakarta," he added.

As for the information, the South Jakarta Mayor together with related stakeholders also signed a joint commitment to prevent and overcome stunting.

Then, certificates of appreciation are given to collaborators who were committed to handling stunting in South Jakarta.
